i need to track material and labor expsenses by customer contracts. db needs
to track additonal items to contracted sale as well. what is the easiest way
to do this or perhaps you can help?

example - customer contracts for kitchen remodel for $10k. Materials and
labor to install remodeled kitchen cost $8k. profit thus is $2k. All needs
to be tracked by customer contract

thanks richfm

You might look at "Service Call Management" in the New Database Wizard
(use File --> New, choose Databases tab, choose "Service Call
Management"). This has provisions for both labor and materials charges
and might give you some ideas about how to organize your own database.

Rich,

If you don't have time to devote to do-it-yourself and want to be up and
running sometime soon, I can build the database for you for a very
reasonable fee. Getting me to do the database for you is the same reason
people get you to do their remodeling. Contact me at my email address below.

Still ambulance chasing.

Rich: These newsgroups are for free help on access problems. steve aka PC D
is well know for ignoring the rules and solicting. He is not interested in
helping, only making money.

Vincent,
thanks for responding so quickly. I created one but it seems
cumbersome and perhaps bloated. would you be interested in looking at it for
suggestions?

thanks -rich

Go ahead (but sanitize it first to remove personal or sensitive
information, and ZIP it before sending it). I probably can't look at it
right away, but will when I can.

I like it a lot. It does exactly what I want, very good job. Thankyou and I
repeat GOOD JOB

OK, Perfect, well done. See you when I need something more.

Your very helpful email speaks volumes about your level of professionalism.
I will definitely keep your contact information for anyone who needs these
types of services - we very frequently get local businesses
contacting us looking for exactly the type of service you provide.

One word: Wow. I had no clue it could be such an "aesthetically pleasing"
interface. I figured it'd just be a big chart. That's amazing. You've really
helped me cause out a lot, and you've done a tremendous job with this demo.
With this, I can more easily explain how a database could help us out.

Thanks for looking ahead. That is the reason I really feel safe working with
you. couple of the programmers who do work for me, need to be checked to
told to do every step of the way. With you, I just need to tell you what I
need to be done, and you will think ahead of all the problems that might
occur in the process.

rich, sorry about the inappropriate solicitation posts you received
elsewhere in this thread. the purpose of these unmonitored newsgroups is to
offer free assistance, advice, and suggestions from fellow Access
developers, to answer your question(s) and help you build a better database.
hopefully Vincent's review of your database will help him assist you in
solving your current issue. if not, you can always post back to this thread,
or start a new thread, for additional free help. if you prefer to hire a
developer to build your database, there are websites where you can look for
contractors. you can find those by googling.

To the OP: PC Datasheet doesn't care about helping you but only about
helping himself. He will no doubt show his true colours by responding to
this with a torrent of abusive remarks. Do yourself a favour a steer clear.

Regards,
Keith.
