How to set-up a file task manager with "alerts" activated?

I'm a paralegal working with 9 other attorneys. I need to create a simplified
file tracking system where current status regarding assigned files can be
inserted, reviewed and updated. This task will need to alert each of us with
a seven day, two-day and actual day notice, when a court/filing/response
deadline date is due. We will also need to view the status of a case that has
been entered into this task, by a click of a button. Currently using
"Microsoft Office Outlook 2003".

Sounds like you need a custom solution; i.e. you'll need a system
integrator to write a bunch of Outlook macros to implement such a
mechanism.

Perhaps others on the newsgroup are a familar with a product that does
what you want.
