How To Set Order of Programs At Start Up?

Good Afternoon. Hope you can give me some guidance on the subject.

When I turn on the computer, I have noticed the programs that start in the
system tray come on in random order. I believe there is a way to select the
order of appearance. For instance, I would like to see my Norton A/V start
first, then Zone Alarm and on down the line. How do I go about selecting my
own order of programs appearance at start up and/or restart?

There's plenty of third party software that will do this for you - check on
the internet. However, I would think twice before tinkering. Security
programs like antivirus and firewall software are designed to start at a
certain point in the boot sequence to provide maximum protection. I wouldn't
mess with it.

Thanks for your quick response, Ted.

I hear what you're saying. The reason I bring this up is that I have
noticed by web connection comes on first, but then a lot of other programs
come on before my Norton A/V, Spy Sweeper, Zone Alarm, etc.

I have been disconnecting my web connection at the end of the day, so at
start up the next day the programs come on and THEN I connect to the
internet. I'm just trying to say some steps.
