I have a publisher document that I want to enclose in my email and I want it
only to read and not edited. How could I do this?

Any assistance on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
EMoorhead

Send as a pdf file?

To add, you could use PDFCreator to "print" your document to a .pdf file,
and you get to set options in PDFCreator as to the security of your PDF
document, such as if the reader can modify it or even if they can copy (and
paste) from it.

Thanks.

Is this software free to download?

PDFCreator is free (http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator).
CutePDF is also free (http://www.cutepdf.com) but it looks like the
PDFCreator has more features than the free version of CutePDF (which has a
paid version with more features). Also, PDFCreator includes the GhostScript
engine required to read Postscript files (what gets printed) in the
installation program whereas CutePDF requires that you download and install
GhostScript separately and then install CutePDF.

A Google search on "+free +PDF +printer" will find several freebies
(http://www.google.com/search?q=+free++PDF++printer). Basically you
"print" to a .pdf file, so your application needs to have a Print function.
