I am trying to use CTRL + Left Mouse button for non-contiguous (select the
first paragraph, skip the second paragraph and select the third, and so on)
selection of text on a website in IE7 but it doesn't work like it does in
most other programs.

Any ideas?

No ideas or help, but that doesn't work to select non-contiguous text in
IE6 either. You might try an IE-specific group like
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general.

Select all three paragraphs, copy to your destination, highlight the second
paragraph, hit delete.

I did notice the same behavior in Notepad also. Some programs allow it.
Others don't
