How to save website-generated icons?

When saving a toolbar link by dragging the address bar, I
get nifty website-generated icons. Eventually, these turn
into the default "e". I discovered that the some of the
icons remain if I drag the address to the desktop for a
shortcut. However, if I try to do anything with the icon
under Properties, it shows the default "e".

Is there any way to preserve these website-generated icons
or save them in a system icon folder?

IE favorites icons usually get cleared out of cache after so long. if
you want to save them, view the source of the web site that has them,
figure out the file name (favicon.ico is typical), and this is located
in the "<HEAD>" section of the html document. then just copy/clip the
path into your address bar and it should save it.
