HOW TO: sata as system drive (C:) on new computer

Hi!

I just installed WinXP on a new computer running a Maxtor 250GB SATA drive.
The system also has an internal 5in1 card reader and a NEC DVD (Thats all!)

After WinXP was installed I noticed that the drive letter of the Maxtor SATA
was H:

The 5in1 card reader had taken C-F, and the DVD used G...

I assume I need to reinstall my OS on the HDD, but what steps do I need to
do to prevent any other drives to take the drive letter C?

I've unplugged the card reader, but obviously this can't be done with the
DVD!

I don't have a floppy, so please tell me I don't need that for this to work
;-)

I removed the 5in1 card reader temporarily and re-installed Windows, now my
boot drive has C: as it's drive letter.

Hopefully nothing bad will happen when I connect it to the system again :)
