How to revove Unwanted Gif on Desktop

I don't know how it happened, but a agif banner is suddenly a permanent
fixture on my desktop. The banner is in My Pictures. How do I remove it
from being on the desktop all the time? Thanks so much

Assuming this isn't a banner generated by malware, go to the Display applet
in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab. Click on Customize Desktop,
and then click on the Web tab. You will see that there are checkmarks next
to "My Current Home Page" and probably "Lock Desktop Items". Uncheck these,
Apply/OK out.

If the banner is of a questionable nature, then you probably have malware.
