how to reverse the shift+enter justify option for the last line?

The last line of a para when using shift+enter looks awkward with too long
spacing between words. How to reverse this? the shift+enter again is not
working.

To terminate a paragraph, use Enter, not Shift+Enter.

To undo the result of using Shift+Enter, use the Backspace key to delete the
end of line character that was inserted by the use of Shift+Enter.

To prevent the justification, you could insert a tab as the last character on the line. A better approach, though, is to go to
Tools|Options|Compatibility and check the 'Don't expand character on the line ending Shift-Return' option (Word 97-2003) or the
equivalent option in Word 2007.

Why would anyone use shift+enter at all?

- to create lines of poetry spaced differently from complete stanzas
of poetry
- to line up words using tabs with irregular spacing (seen in
linguistics all the time)
- to create multi-line addresses that can be sorted on the first word
of the first line

Those are certainly reasons for using line breaks but not a justification
for using a line break to end a paragraph. In most cases where line breaks
are required (poetry, address blocks), presumably one would not be using
Justified alignment in the first place. For the occasional override, I
prefer the solution of adding a tab character rather than changing the
Compatibility Options setting, which affects all justified paragraphs (and
occasionally you want the last line of a paragraph to be justified to create
the appearance of a continuous paragraph broken over pages, interrupted by a
full-page graphic).

He didn't ask about ending a paragraph (which wouldn't work anyway!),
but only what Shift-Enter is good for.
