How to <%= Response.Write(DateTime.Now) %> inline?

I haven't done this since ASP and though we could use some sort of
"expression" to process code inline. I did some searching and reading but
haven't found anything specific. What's up?

You mean like <%=DateTime.Now.ToString() %>

Exactly, but it doesn't work in a 2.0 MasterPage. Would you by any chance
have a URL which documents the use of inline expressions? My search has come
up empty.
