How to repopulate the file that creates the dotted green underline

I'm using Outlook 2000 and I think I have a corrupted the file that's used in
the auto complete option when sending email. When I right-click on the name
underlined in green to select from the list of similiar names I get an error
message. It works fine for names underlined in red, but the green ones are a
problem. What file needs to be fixed? Or is it something else?

I apologize if this is posted more than once. I've been trying all day and
haven't seen my post. So I am trying again. Thank you.

What error message?

The error message reads "Cannot perform the requested operation. The command
selected is not valid for this recipient." The error occurs with every
address underlined in green. I appreciate any direction you can offer.

Have you changed anything about your Outlook configuration recently, like moving a .pst file?

There is no file involved that you can just delete. I've never found exactly where Outlook 2000 keeps its autoresolution history.

Sue, I just saw a response from you to a similar question in a different
discussion group where you explained that importing a .pst file breaks the
contact links. I recently imported my backup outlook.pst after a HD crash. Is
there anyway I can reestablish the links?

Thank you for the time you so generously give to these questions. You are a
life line.
