how to repeat text

how do I format cells to repeat text after first letter entered - sometimes
it does
 
AFAIK, you cannot format a cell to do it. it automatically does this i
the entries match with some other entry entered earlier in a contiguou
region along the column

do you mean the autocompletion feature. If yes it works only if the
other entry is above this cell and if there's no blank row in between
