How to repair unrecognized database format ?

Is there any free utily that I can download to repair unrecognized database
format ?

Chlaris,

It might be that your trying to open a database "newer" then your current
version. Example I use Access 2000 I can not open Access 2003 or 2007 and so
on. So
check the version and post back.

This error occurs when you try to open your access database in newe
version of access. Some time access inbuilt utilities repair the acces
database, so you can try those to repair your database. If still you
access database is not repaired then you need access repair software.
am not aware of any freeware as you mentioned. When I face the sam
situation then I used Stellar Phoenix Access Repair Software. You ca
try this software from he http://www.repair-access-file.com and sca
your data. If you are able to view your database in preview mode the
you need to opt full version to save your database
