How to rename a drive?

Some months ago I stored a lot of music on an exsternal hard drive. The
system named it the I drive.

Recently I moved, and played around with some new hardware. Suddenly,
when I connect the music hard drive, the system recognizes it as the G drive!
As a result, none of the many playlists I have made up will work.

If anyone can explain how I might reassign it to the I Drive (currently
empty) I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

Right click on My Computer, select Manage, then under the Storage option
select Disk Management.
Now in the right hand pane right click on the partition or in your case the
external drive that you want to
change the drive letter and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Then click the Change button and pick a letter from the pull down list.

JS,

Thanks for trying, but that didn't work. When I selected Disk Management
I got the error message, "The Logical Disk Manager Service is Disabled. A
Connection cannot be established." Any ideas? Thanks
