how to remove/uninstall plugin?

Hi. I installed a plugin by downloading and running mp3.plugin.exe. It
starts up a toolbar when I bootup my machine, changes my homepage to
something of their choosing (while I prefer "about:blank"), installs icons
on my desktop and favorites, and starts a mini browser everytime I start a
new internet browser.

When I remove the installed icons or change the homepage, it restores
everything to the way they want.

How to remove the plugin? I tried Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs, but
the program "MP3 search" is not there.

Does anyone know how to remove this plugin?

Thanks.

Spyware Alert!
Info:
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/lop.html

Download and run either SpyBot Search & Destroy or Lavasoft's Ad-aware.
SpyBot: http://security.kolla.de
Ad-aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Install and update the application and run a full scan.
Use often, just like you would your pre-installed anti-virus scanner.

Final clean-up with "Hijack This": http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Hi,

You have been hi-jacked etc

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php
Go to "Programs to detect and remove spyware.
Follow the links to programs called Ad-Aware & Spybot Search and Destroy.
Download and install these programs.
Re connect to the net and check for updates to these programs.
READ the instructions for each program and then run it.
These should remove the problem.
If not. Download HiJack this. Carefully follow the instructions
and post the results file to their forum.

When you have finished the above. Run a manual
full system virus-scan.

All of the above assumes that you have a properly installed
virus-scanner and firewall. Also that the virus-scan
definitions are up to date.

Downloading such programs for file sharing is considered
very bad for the health of your PC. They install loads of other
nasties. Beware...... Nothing for nothing most of the time.

When you have recovered a normal operating state for
your PC. Consider using some of the programs
to stop BHO/Spyware/Adserving/ rubbish being
installed on your PC.

Thanks. This works. I used Spybot search and destroy mostly, and
HijackThis. I've been using Ad-aware for months now. In the process, I
also learned how to get rid off some other program that automatically
launches at bootup even though it is not in my StartUp menu. I still have
these toolbars launching when I boot my machine, so will try to remove more
stuff.

Get ToolbarCop:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/ToolbarCop.exe

Make sure you update Ad-Aware and SpyBot S & D often, at least once a week.
