how to remove underline feature in emails,

my email text remains underline despite it is not my default font format.
De-underlining does not work either. it changes my screen however the
recipient still recieves the email underlined. I have no background or
template either.

any ideas on how to problem solve?

Try deleting the file %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dot
