How to remove the paragraph and formatting symbols on the view

How do I remove the paragraph and formatting symbols on the view in Word? I
don't how I changed this to start happening, but now I can't get rid of the
symbols.
 
Thank You so much. I was so tired of seeing those symbols! What an easy fix.
Can't believe I suffered so long. Also, I am so glad I found this forum. I
never knew it existed before today! Technology is awesome...
