How to remove lots of blank lines scattered throughout a word doc

The text I pasted into word has many blank lines scattered throughout the
document and I would like to remove them all at once like you can using the
find and replace to remove some unwanted character instead of doing it
manually.
I am using MS Word 2000 (SR-1) and Windows XP (Home edition).

Hi,

You can do this by Search and Replace. In Word, the code for a new paragraph
is ^p, and the code for a new line within a paragraph is ^l. The simplest
procedure that gets rid of most blank lines is to search for ^p^p and replace
it by ^p. Then search for ^l to see if you have any line breaks of this kind.
