how to remove hidden startup program

My computer loads thmedia during startup. It is not listed in the startup folder of "documents and settings" so I cannot delete it, but it shows up in msconfig startup tab. If I uncheck it there, I get a message everytime I boot. How do I stop the thmedia program from loading at all?

Hi Arleen,

Start/run msinfo32, expand the software environment and click on the startup
programs. Look for that program in this list, it will show you where it is
loading from. This is where you will need to go to disable it.

Arleen,

In msconfig, with the message every time you boot, there's an option
in the lower left you can tick so msconfig doesn't show on the next
boot.

Good luck

Thanks everyone. I found discussion in the window xp general discussion page with the subject "stopping programs from autolaunching" dated 11/21/03. There is an answer there from Doug. He outlines how to remove the loading step, rather than how to stop the loading. You can read his 3 page description there. I was able to find my problem in HKEY Local Machine, etc. and remove the load command. Thank you for your help.
