How to remote access without forcing off logged-on user?

If I remotely access a WinXP Pro station, the logged on user gets logged
off, and a message appears on the screen indicating that it has been locked.

What do I have to do to *share* the remote desktop versus forcing the
current user off his/her machine?

I'm using the Windows remote desktop client, not pcAnywhere etc.

That is how Remote Desktop is designed and cannot be modified.

How about using Netmeeting rather than Remote Desktop ?
