How to reinstall windows xp?

P

ppxp

I recently picked up 3 threats that are immune to Norton treatment and
spybot removal. I guess I have to clear my computer and start over.
Problem is, I don't know how to do this. I have all the required disks
and drivers but do not know how to procede to remove the unwanted stuff
and then reload the system.

Please help.

Thanks!

What are these three "threats"? Reinstalling to remove malware, unless you
have many infestations, is almost always great overkill.

But your choice. If you want to do this, read on.

Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if necessary to
accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean installation (delete the
existing partition by pressing "D" when prompted, then create a new one).

You can find detailed instructions here:

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I have managed to remove all but 3
of the threats, but they seem quite embedded, hence to reload. I will
have time tomorrow to try your suggestions on the final 3. But if they
fail, i will go to the reload.

Thanx for all the help.
