How to recover unsaved file in Excel 2000

we hada power surge .I didn`t saved my file is their a
way to recover it .I will appreciate your help

Hi Garry,
Pretty much true that you've probably lost your file, but there are
some things yo can check for.

Please only post your question once. By posting twice you make
it difficult for everyone including yourself. My primary concern is that
you mess up your thread that other people searching the archives might
have used to solve their own problems. Something that you could have
checked yourself.

You must have your file types set up that you will display hidden files,
and display all file extensions.

Then look in the same directory of your file for files without any file
extension and 8 hex digits (digits 0-9 and letters A-F) typically
described as garbage names. If you find something then look at
the dates you may have something you can use, you would have
to open the file with Excel. You might also check for .XLK (and
possibly for .BAK) files which you might find if you set up Excel to create them.

Another suggestion in the other thread (for the future) was to create
your backup. I would suggest that you include the date within the filename
