How to protect document from modification?

I have my document password protected from modification but I can still make
changes and then I am prompted to save the document under a different name.
Is there any way to protect it so if somebody tries to modify they will get a
message saying that they are unable to - similar to protected cells in excel?

Thanks
Tania

Even protected cells in XL can be copied & pasted to another file. Anything
you put out there can be circumvented by most any [unskilled] user. The best
option is to distribute the document as a PDF... and even that isn't
foolproof.

You really can not do what you want. Anything that can be displayed on the
screen can be copied in one or another simply ways. PDF might help some,
but still won't make it very hard to copy. If it can create a printer file,
display to the screen, whatever, it can be copied/modified.
You CAN install things that will tell you if it's been modified, buyt you
cannot stop it from being modified, I'm afraid.

Sorry,
