How to *permanently* delete the Favourites/LINKS folder?

Does anyone know how to stop the Favourites/Links folder re-appearing after
deletion? It's driving me nuts.

You can't delete it but it can be hidden. Right-click on Links in the Favorites listing, select Properties then enable the Hidden attribute.
 
The Links toolbar is the best feature in favorites.
Compress the other 3 tool bars into one tool and with 16
links across the screen and 10 favorites under each.
That's 160+ sites/locations 2 clicks away. And each link
has different icon and no large menus/menus. Very
customized.
