I am no expert but run W2K in FAT mode on standalone PC?
because it is stable. I have a folder on the desktop which
contains sub folders. I want it so that a password is
needed to open the folder. The files inside are xls but i
dont want to password each file. How can I do it

thanks

No can do for free
If you had NTFS, you would have in-built security (with stability)
Have a look at http://www.pc-magic.com/des.htm#mf
