I have two "bas" files that were created by exporting macros in the
Excel VBE.
Why XP is treating them differently?
In one case, when I click on the file, I get a pop-up that allows me
to select the application to open the file.
In the other case, when I click on the file, I get a pop-up that asks
me if I want to run the file.
When I look at the Property sheets for both files, they seem to have
the characteristics. But of course, I might have overlooked a detail.
Also, although the second "bas" file was indeed created by exporting
in the VBE on __some__ computer, it was created on __this__ computer
by downloading from an email attachement.
I know that I can work around this different behavior either by
appending ".txt" to the file name or by importing the "bas" file in
VBE.
But I am still curious why the two files behave differently.
Any insights?
