They are temporary files, as described at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211632.

You _may_ be able to recover some text from one or more temporary files, but
it's very unlikely that you would find everything there. You may get some help
at http://www.gmayor.com/outlook_attachments.htm and
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm.

Hi itzik,

These files are temporary ones used by Word. If they're still there after Word has closed, they may contain usable parts of old
documents.
