How to open a port

I have found the following site that starts with " click My Network
Places"

My WinXP doesn't have a "My Network Places" on the start menu.

Where did it go?

It hasn't gone enywhere, it's just never been turned on, do the following :

1. Click start and go to the Control Panel.
2. Click Tasckbar and Start Menu icon.
3. Click Start Menu tab.
4. Click Customize button.
5. Click Advanced tab.
6. Scroll down the Start Menu Items list and tick the box next to My Network
Places.
