Some web sites I use have a login page that has the "secure (https)" option.
Everytime I visit that page I have to remember to click on "secure" before
logging in. I'm afraid someday I may forget and send my password as plain
text.
Is there a way, other than book-marking the secure login page, to avoid
accidentally logging in in the unsecure mode?
The reason book-marking the page does not work is because sometimes the web
site sends me a direct link to retrieve some message, that link would first
ask me to login (and defaults to un-secure mode).
If I use my own book-marked secure login page, after I logged in I would
have to navigate through several pages before I get to the message, so it is
more convenient to use the link they send.
