How to move Uninstall files?

M

Michael Giroux

My C:\windows directory is pretty full of $NtUninstall.... folders.

1. Is there a registry setting somewhere that I can change to cause these to
be put into another folder? Anything but c:\windows would be nice.
2. If I move existing folders to a new location, is there a registry setting
I can fix so that the uninstalls still work, or will I be forced to move the
folders back to c:\windows to do an uninstall?

Thanks

You cannot make Windows to create the folders elsewhere. However,
there is no need for to keep the folders and the data inside if you
are not going to uninstall the related Windows patches.

Move them out, move any back should you want to uninstall that patch.
It is I think very unlikely that you will ever need them if you give
each patch say three weeks to show any adverse side effects before
moving its folder out
