How do I change the drive that the page file
is stored on?
I have two drives and would like to have the page
file stored on the second drive. I did this once but
can not remember how to do it again. I go to
Control panel, system, advance, performance settings,
advance, virtual memory change but I can't change
the drive that the page file is stored on.

Any help would be appreciated...thank you

If My Computer is on your desktop, right click it and choose properties

- OR -

Control Panel / System ....

Advanced Tab .... Settings ... Advanced .... at the bottom is the virtual
memory info .... click the change button, and make your settings and hit
OK/Apply as necessary. You'll be prompted to reboot.

Make sure you click set before you click apply after you made you changes. This
step is very often overlooked and results in the pagefile not being changed.

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all

Highlight the drive you want it put on, and either select system
managed or select Custom. and choose suitable initial and max sizes - I
suggest Initial should be enough to come to 500 MB when added to RAM,
or 100 MB, whichever is more, and the Max as big as convenient - up to
say twice RAM or 2000. Once done, click the Set button.

Then highlight the C where the file has been, custom and set initial 2
Max 50 - if you don't have the potential for some file there, the system
will sulk. Click Set again; OK out, clicking Apply wherever available
and reboot
