Hello.

I have PPTP VPN dialer set up on my WinXP laptop.
It works great with ISA Server 2004 as my gateway.
How can I make it available at logon time (Ctrl-Alt-Del)?

Thanks in advance.

PS. I also use Cisco VPN Client to connect to our Cisco
VPN concentrator. The CVPN client can be enabled to
establish VPN connection prior to login.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe I'll try the Cisco VPN dialer to connect to the ISA
Server. Hmmmm.

When you hit <control><alt><del> at logon, you can choose to check the
checkbox for "Logon Using Dial Up Networking". You will then be prompted to
chose the connection at that point. As for the Cisco VPN client, you can't
use this feature. You need to log on locally then launch the Cisco VPN
connection.

That doesn't work. The VPN connectoid does not
show as a choice in the Dialup Networking. I don't
use dialup because I am directly connected to the
Internet. The reason why I want to connect to vpn
prior to logon so that I don't use cached domain
authentication.

CVPN client ver 4.+ can establish connection at
logon!

Open Network Connections. Under the Network Tasks, click on Create a New
Connection. Follow that wizard. When you log off of the system, assuming
that you are using XP Pro, and then press <Ctl><Alt><Del>, place a check in
the check box. After you enter your credentials and hit enter, then you
should be prompted for a connection to connect to if you have multiple
connections.

Thanks. That worked. The VPN conectoid that
I first created was for "Myself only" that's why it
is not available as a choice in the available "dialup
connections" at logon. I created a new one for
"All users" and it is available at logon.
