How to make pointer color black?

I have an odd situation involving the text select (i-beam)
and precision select (cross hairs) pointer colors. On my
desktop with a CRT monitor running MCE2005, these pointers
are black. But on my laptop running Home, with the
identical scheme, they are medium blue, and therefore don't
show up so well. All the other pointers are the same on
both computers - either black or white as appropriate.

Can anyone tell me why this difference exists on just these
two pointers, and what I can do to make those them black on
the laptop?

Make sure your laptop is running the native
resolution on the LCD (max. X by Y it's rated for).

The mouse pointer scheme titled "Windows Inverted (system scheme)"
always displays the pointer in a color somewhat contrasting the
background. It changes colors as you move the pointer across the
screen, and is quite easy to see, I think.
