How to make my 'outline view' be a thumbnail view

Hi.
I had to reinstall MS Office. When I did,my default Powerpoint "Tri-Pane"
view
changed. Where I used to see the thumbnails of the presentation on the
left, it now shows the outline. How can I get the thumbnail view back in
that left panel on the "Tri-pane"?

There are TABS at the top of the pane OUTLINE and SLIDES!

You may see little icons in outline view, basically click the inactive one.

There are no TABS at the top of the pane. The only TABS are a the bottom and
apply to the entire view, i.e., if I hit the Slide Sorter view, the entire
presentation is put in Slide Sorter view. I only want the left pane in that
view.

Go to the Tools menu and chooose Options. Click on the View tab. At the
bottom of the dialogue box, change the "Default View." I think the one
you want is "Normal-thumbnails, notes and slides."

Well. Thissounds like it should have worked, but I do not have a "Default
View" option to change. Very frustrating. THanks anyway.

Also, make sure that your version of PowerPoint have all the Service Patches
applied

Jerry,

What is the version number displayed there? Looks like you may have
installed an older version.

Solved! I loaded a newer level of office and the thumbnails as well as the
tabs in the tri-pane are there as expected. Thanks to all for hte help. It
came down to having reinstalled an older version of Office/Powerpoint.
