How to make Internet Explorer, default browser

how can i make IE my default browser on win xp home

what if IE is not the defualt? my the curren default is
sbc yahoo browser. It's frustrating me because I do not
like that browser. IE is more efficient for me. I went to
tools, then internet options, then programs and then
clicked the box at the bottom that says IE should check
to see if it's the defualt browser. I did that, pressed
apply and then ok. I use my keyboard to launch the
default browser and it still opens the yahoo. What now?

You need to open IE again, and at that point it will ask to be made
the default browser.

The tools menu is on the top bar of internet explorer, between
favorites and help. Click it, and you'll see internet options at the
bottom.

You then have to load IE manually (Start - Run and type in iexplore and
OK) , and it will say it is not the default and do you want it to be?
