My outlook 2007 text email has started opening center justified. It used to
open left justified. How do I change it back to left?? Please help

center justify with text emails just happened to me; spent one hour forty
minutes on phone with MS tech support; nice man but no answers; he will get
back to me on the 28th, 30th of Aug, and Sept 4; screwed up my system so
badly with regedit that I uninstalled Office 2007 including Outlook and
re-installed Office 2007 including Outlook, but no change with
center-justified text emails .....IF you email me privately I will give you
updates to the problem as I receive them from MS tech support; not likely to
see a response in this forum if you posted on the 6th and today is the 23rd.
I had previously talked with a paid Ingenio MS expert with no solutions.
(e-mail address removed); Aug 23, 2007

plain text may be safer, but then I will be sending plain text emails ALL
CENTER JUSTIFIED with no way to make them left justified RUN: OUTLOOK
/SAFE makes all emails read/write left justified. RUN: OUTLOOK makes text
created (non-html) receive/read center justified. Outlook has a glitch. I
have three computers using Outlook 2007, ready to convert three more; this
machine (and Msharpe prev post) are the only ones I've found with this
glitch. MS tech support tells me he will need a few days to research the
problem and get back to me.

This indicates you may have some add-in causing the problem. Conceivably,
it's the Word template used by Word for composing email as well, and
deleting or renaming that template may help.

The only "add-ins" are ACTIVE: 1) Microsoft OutlookMobile Service
C:\OFFICE\Office12\OMSMAIN.DLL 2) Qurb Outlook Add-In c:\...ite\eTrust
Anti-Spam\QSP-4.0.380.0\QAddi\n.dll INACTIVE: 3) Microsoft VBA for Outlook
Addin c:\OFFICE\Office12\ADDINS\OUTLVBA.DLL; my other main computer which is
behaving with text email messages has nine total active add-ins; none of
which I would recognize as a Word template

I would disable each add-in in turn until I identify the one causing the
problem, then ask the vendor of the add-in

Disabling ALL add-ins has no effect on center-justified text messages;
add-ins do not seem to be the problem, unless there is a specific microsoft
add-in that is not present; I don't believe existing add-ins are causing this
problem...if they were my other computers would be affected also

Word templates are not add-ins. At the moment I don't have access to my
Vista/OL 2007 system, so I can't tell you what folder they're in, but if you
Google this group, you should be able to find one of the other posts that do
state where they are.

I have an appropriate Word Template named normal.dotm and I have a copy of
same Word Template named normalemail.dotm both located in C:\Documents and
Settings/Dale Boothby/Application Data/Microsoft/Templates.

Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP in a separate post pertaining to use same styles as
Word in email messages wrote that "documents use the normal.dotx template .
Email messages use the normalemail.dotx template. Therefore you'd need to set
up the same styles in both templates"

WORD claims "use normal.dotm" and does not mention "normalemail.dotm".

None of this fixes the problem of center justified text in plain text emails.

Did you rename those dotx files and try?

I had previously created *.dotx files with no success; just for you I have
renamed both *.dotm files to *.dotx: now EACH TIME I open WORD 2007 I must
go thru a five minute configuration progress screen before I can use WORD
2007. If I try to open Word 2003 I only have to wait 3 minutes for
re-configuration.

So, now I will spend some time removing all normal files and start over. I
know you are trying to help me and it is appreciated, but in my opinion, MS
intentionally ruined Outlook 2003 earlier this year to force us to upgrade to
2007 and unfortunately the 2007 product is more defective than the 2003
product.
