How to make candles of candlestick charts thicker?

Herbert Chan

Hello,

I've finally solved how to extract the weekly open high low close from a
continuous series of mutual fund prices.

I've then tried to produce a candlestick chart. I could produce the chart,
but the candles are just too thin! Everything's black!

How can I make the body of the candles thicker? I've now just 17 sets of
data and the candlesticks occupy just like around only 2 pixels at 100%,
while there are 2 cm of space for them to occupy actually between each of
them.

Hope it's possible, otherwise, it's just useless for Excel to offer this
candlestick charting functionality.

Are you showing weekly data on a time scale chart? Excel like to be helpful by saving space for
all the in-between days, but the candlesticks for the bars that are actually plotted end up
being very thin. Select Chart Options from the Chart menu, and on the Axes tab, change the
Category axis type from Time Scale or Automatic to Category.

Unlike a standard column chart, you can't adjust the relative width of the gap and the columns.
