How to make a powerpoint presentation end without the need to escape

Chris

Using powerpoint viewer 2003, at the end of a presentation the screen goes
blank with the exception of text stating end of slide show, click to exit.

Is thee a way for it to end without any user action required ?

Thanks

In TOOLS > OPTIONS > VIEW tab if you untick "end with black slide" you wont
get it.

What happened there ...

....If you want the show to close down completely then save it as a
"powerpoint show" (or change its file extension to .pps)

Great advice, but this guy is using the Viewer :) I think in the Viewer, you
will need to cheat.

Add a new last slide to your presentation. On it, place a rectangle the size
of the slide. Using Action settings, give this rectangle a mouse over event
of "End Show". Change the Autoshape to be 98% transparent and have no line.
Now, when the next to last slide finishes, the presentation will advance to
the new last slide. Because the mouse is over the shape, the show will end.

In testing this, I have found that it may not completely solve your problem.
You will need to have the shape just enough smaller than the slide so that
the cursor can be moved off the object and back on. For some reason, the
full slide shape doesn't work with the mouse over, but does with the mouse
click.
