Simple for most, but I do not know how to get my XP pro machines to see their
accounts on the Server workgroup (windows 2000 server). I have set up an
account on the server "Bill". When the xp machines tries to access a server
file, it will ask to log on...and one has to type the password. But I want
the machine to ask for the logon password when it boots up and to never ask
again for that session. I do have a local xp user account set up..but it's
password is local not on the workgroup (which is named "workgroup")

thanks...in advance!

i think my vocabulary is incorrect. i think (i can't figure out how to find
on the 2000 server) but it only set up for workgroups...not a domain server.
So I want to log onto the workgroup and access the password set up on the
server...the object of this game, is i want to set up user passwords...not
them....

On the Win2k Server create a user account with the same use name and
password you use to logon to the XP machine.

If you make the account a member of the Administrators group on the Server,
then you can access the server from your XP machine by using the Computer
Management console: Right click on My Computer and select Manage. Right
click on Computer Management (Local) and select Connect to another computer.
