how to locate unwanted downloaded files?

The media player suddenly played un unwanted video (in
Quick Time?) which was probably downloaded in error.
However, I cannot find this file in order to remove it.
Where can these small clips be stored? Thanks.

I believe Quicktime can play a lot of different file type, some more common
ones are .mov, .moov and .movie. You could try searching on those
extensions.
