How To Let Viewer Download a PDF File?

I have a website with an Adobe Reader .pdf file stored on the web host. I
want to display on a page: "Click here to download the file in .pdf format".
When the viewer clicks on this message the .pdf file will be downloaded to
his computer. How do I implement this in FrontPage?

If you want it to download rather than be displayed in viewer's browser
window (if the user has Acrobat), then just .zip it up instead of having it
as a pdf...of course the user will have to unzip it to view it...and will
still need Acrobat.

Bell,
The problem with that is this. If the user has a pdf read installed on
their system, then the pdf file will open on their screen. After creating a
link to the pdf file, you can set the "Target" as "new". This will force a
new browser to pop open. That way, your website is still open in the
background. Once the pdf is open, the pdf reader has a button on the top
left corner so that the user can save the file to their computer.

Yeah, you could still put the urls of the PDF files, but save a space
somewhere on the page so people could download the software. I did that many
times. There is no way we could embed the files yet. Unless, you are talking
about embedding frames of those files? Sounds weird too.

That works great too.
Great idea. I haven't heard from Bell... if he (or she) has read these
suggestions.
