More precisely...
Partition "D" on Hard Disk Drive 1...
If you have two physical hard disk drives (I believe you might) this would
be the second one you put in/Windows XP Recognized..

Look in Disk Manager - what do you see there?

Not true (unfortunately XP event logs can sometimes be misleading).
I've seen this in many event logs on several laptops which clearly do
not have secondary hard drives/partitions nor did they ever have one
attached externally.
Its often (but not always) the result of a hard drive with mechanical
or I/O failures.

My suggestion...... if the computer still works well, don't worry
about it, but keep your data backed up!!

I have only one harddrive with 2 partitions and an external USB mass
storage shown as Removable Device. That should be \device
\harddisk1\D. Please don't give wrong info because \device
\harddisk1\D is not drive letter. It appears in device path only?.

Isn't there an app or tip to see full map of connected Harddrives? If
not, why does XP complain about drives without specifying the exact
drive letter?

http://www.uwe-sieber.de/files/usbdlm.zip

It contains an information tool called ListUsbDrives
and two cmd scripts to get it's output in the Windows
Editor.
The information you are seaching for is the 'Volume DosDevName',
something like \Device\Harddisk5\DP(1)0-0+f for an
removable drive under XP.
