How to join and manage 2 domains

Ive been asked to join 2 domains as our company recently purchased another
company.
Domain A has an existing mail server/file server and print server all
running on 2k server
Domain B i have to create from scratch
Domain B will have its own mail server and must be able to share
files and printers with domain A.
Domain B consists mainly of Macs

Is there a simple way to do this and if so how do i go about doing it?

Thanks in advance

Andy,

Just a question for you: why do you need to create another
domain? Could you not simply add the "Domain B" users to
your existing domain? I mean, if you are going to start
from scratch! Understand that if they ( aka: Domain B )
are mostly MAC machines then you might need to take a look
at how you are currently sharing the folders in Domain A.
You will propably need to install the appropriate protocol
as well.

I find that when dealing with MAC users you need to make
sure that the AppleTalk protocol is installed on the File
Server in question and that you need to actually
use "Shared Folders" in Computer Management ( right click
My Computer and select Manage ) to properly create that
shares. Otherwise the MAC users might have issues seeing
the shares.

If you have an Exchange Server in place already that looks
like a starting point. You have not mentioned how many
users are currently in Domain A and how many will be
in "Domain B". Point for this: can the existing hardware
handle the load?

If you want to save yourself some work take a look at
Active Directory Migration Tools ( ADMT v2 ). This might
come in handy.

Please keep in mind that you have provided very limited
information. I am simply throwing out an idea that may or
may not be valid upon receipt of additional information.

Thanks for the reply.
The email portion of the integration is the sticky part. The file sharing
is the least of my worries hehe. I found out that macs are finicky about
how their sharepoint is set up a long time ago and have that portion worked
out already.

So i guess my problem is more having 2 exchange servers and thats where the
2nd domain comes in.

Domain A has roughly 50 users. Domain B has about 12 users. The server can
certainly handle the increased load but ive been instructed that Domain B is
to retain their current @domainB.com addresses. Its my understanding that
i will need 2 exchange servers for this. Am i wrong in thinking that?

Andy!

Actually, this does not have to be a source for problems.
One of the many wonderful things about Exchange 2000 is
that it can be an "authoritative" server for multiple "e-
mail" domains. Take a look at Mark Fugatt's many articles
at http://www.msexchange.org. Here is a link to the
specific article, but definitely take a look at the 20 or
so articles that he has written:
