Hi, think my msg didn't go through. I re-format pc (formerly on win98). so
how do i install win xp? do i install win98 first, then upgrade it to xp? i
don't have the boot disk for xp, just the boot disk for 98
boot with your win98 boot disk allow cd rom, insert your Xp Cd, type dir on the cd drive you will find a folder named i386 then type cd i386, then type setup
Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
Also, if you have an upgrade version of Windows XP, if you are prompted for
a qualifying product, place your Windows 98 CD in the drive and "point" to
it.
