How to install XP on Gateway Sata

We got a gateway laptop MT6821 with Windows Vista Premium installed on
it. When we purchase it we wanted XP Media Center Edition. The seller
sold us the XP Media Center Edition disk and said we could install it if
we in fact didn't like the Vista.

Long story short; The laptop is adequate to handle Vista efficiently
and we have tried to install The XP Media Center Edition on it.

I have formated the drive, which is blank know. It refuses to recognize
the Hard drive. I have download so called utilities to press F6 during
install - no avail.

Help

Thanks

have a look at what you downloaded...
as it may be an executable which needs to be extracted in order to give you
thr drivers
that you will need on the floppy

It is an executable file which was extracted to the floppy (USB)

I have the same problem, the installer installed files to A: Drive.
However, when I attempt to use the disk
it gives you choices, but none of the mobile ones work!
