hi
i would like to insert a picture in a cell in excell and i need it to stay
in that cell and act as text or numbers would act in that cell, or i would
like the picture to be inserted in the comment box and it to be displayed if
i mouse over the cell.

Any help would be appreciated.

To insert a picture in a comment (xl2003):
1. Insert a comment in a cell.
2. The comment is surrounded by diagonal lines. CLick on the diagonal lines.
NOw the comment should be surrounded by dense dots.
3. Select Comment from the Format menu.
4. On the Colors and Lines tab, select Color, then Fill Effects...
5. On the Picture tab, click Select Picture...
6. Select the picture file, and OK your way back out.

Hope this helps,

Hutch

If you make the picture small enough that it fits within the bounds of the cel
then formatits properties to move and size with the cell you can keep the
picture with the cell.

To place a picture in a Comment you can insert>comment.

Right-click on edge of comment then format comment>color and lines>fill
effects>picture>slect picture>browse to your picture and double-click on it.
