How to insert background sound clips into Word doc?

I'm trying to insert background sounds into several places within a Word
document where there are also photographs pasted in . . . so there are
different types of paste-in media files . . . SO THAT the SOUND (like a line
from a song, say) plays when you scroll down through the document and REACH
that point -- as opposed to all the sounds playing when you open the
document.

I have tested my "creations" out by first sending the document to myself and
TWO problems I have been experiencing are:

(a) When I insert the sound files and then send the document to myself, the
only sound I hear when opening the document is the LAST sound I inserted into
the background; OR

(b) When I try to do this by inserting background into an email message with
the same content, I get a "mixed message" -- I am able to insert the
background sound at each place when I am CREATING the email (same as the MS
Word doc) but when I send it to myself as a test, ultimately not all the
clips or sound files make it in! (Aand OUTLOOK notifies me of this when I am
pressing send. It gives me a message saying something like "Not all of the
files can be found . . . do you want to send this email anyway?" -- and
again I'll only get pieces of it. (They're MP3 files) HELP! SOMEBODY! Very
frustrated by this conundrum. (Oh, to complicate things: I am using windows
98SE . . . ) ANY ADVICE
