how to insert a 'carriage return' in a cell?

what i mean is my cell is definetly wide enough to accomodate three
lines of text because i am writing it in Times, point 8 and i have
widened the cell dimensions. At the moment I am having to continously
press the space bar to reach a new line and then type the next
sentence and so on (which is just silly). By the way, I know there is
a wrap text and shrink to fit but that's not what i am trying to do
here. An example (sort of). Imagine this is the cell:
