I would like to establish some personalized Document Property variables
in a template and then propagate these to all the files based on that
template.
After that, I would like to replace certain character strings in the
files associated to the template by a DocProperty field. I see the
search function allows to search for a given field type, but not to
replace text with a field.
Here's an example of the process.
Let's say that in the template, I create a personalized Document
Property variable called adm which has as its value "Administration
Console".
In all documents based on the template, I would like to be able to
search for the string "Administration Interface" and replace with the
insertion of a field {DOCPROPERTY "adm" \* MERGEFORMAT}. In the text,
this should be visible as "Administration Console". If at a later date
that value changes in the template, I'd like it to be updateable in all
the other documents as well.
Can that be done? Or am I better off just search-replacing hard-coded
text?
Many thanks for your opinions.
