The Personal Address Book service is long obsolete. You should be storing
your contacts data in the Contacts folder. Import there.

Thanks for the reply. The only reason I am still sticking to pab is the ease
of portability. I often switch between laptop and home computer and do not
know any better way. If you can suggest anything, I will really appreciate it.

Well, I use an iPAQ to keep my home and work in sync, but that's a fairly
expensive sync tool. See if soemthing here helps:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm .

In my opinion, the better way (without a third-party tool) is to create a
new PST, right-click your Contacts folder and choose Copy, specifying the
new PST as the destination, then, when the copy completes, closing the new
PST. When you close Outlook you can then copy that PST to a thumb-drive,
CD, or some other interchange medium and carry it to the other PC. On that
PC you can copy the PST to the hard drive and remove the read-only attribute
(if transferred via a read-only medium like a CD) or leave it on the
transport, in the case of a read/write medium like a thumb-drive, open it in
that Outlook (File>Open>Outlook Data File), and then open that Contacts
folder, selecting all entries and copying them to the main Contacts folder.

I will try your suggested method out but how to synchronize between the two?
Also would it allow me to suppress creation of duplicate entries?
